Lipoaminoacids

Akileine are the only footcare products in the world that contain lipoaminoacids.

They are a combination of fatty acids and amino acids that form a chain that is able to penetrate the skin at the molecular level and will target a specific problem i.e. There are different lipoaminoacids for dryness, perspiration etc.

In the case of Akileine Dry Foot Cream the lipoaminoacid is obtained from wheat and it’s action balances the skin’s pH.
pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of the skin. Acid is oily, Alkaline is dry. The ideal pH is between 5.5 and 6.0.
Products that balance the pH are more expensive.
Drug store dry foot creams may be cheaper but often do not do this.

Shea Butter

Silk Lipesters

Shea Butter, also known as Karite Butter, is a cream-coloured fatty substance made from the nuts of Karite Nut Trees that grow in West and Central Africa.
It repairs, moisturizes and protects the skin from harsh external factors. It nourishes the skin with Vitamins A, E and F. It soothes rough, dry or chapped skin.
Silk Lipesters include the Fatty Acids and Esterified
Amino Acids of silk, with added Serine.
Serine is a moisturizing amino acid, which is keratolytic and a precursor in the synthesis of ceramides.
Lipesters cause the active agents to penetrate better, and the bioavailability of the amino-acids is enhanced.

Shea Butter penetrates easily, allowing the skin to breathe
and not clogging pores.
Shea Butter has a high level of cinnamic acid, a natural sun screen, so it provides some
degree of protection from the sun.

Properties of Silk Lipesters

  • Carries silk amino acids and serine across the skin barrier
  • Repairing
  • Hydrating
  • Anti-bacterial
  • Anti-fungal
Imperata Cylindrica
Centella Asiatica

This plant is a natural super moisturiser. It comes from the Australian desert and is able to survive in such hostile surroundings thanks to its potency in potassium and DMSP (dimethylsulfopropionate). Potassium acts as a pump to allow water to enter the cell, DMSP acts as a trap to prevent water leaving the cells.

Asepta laboratories use this property in all its formulas in order to give them an intense and long lasting hydrating function.

Centella Asiatica is used in the manufacture of superior quality skin care and cosmetic products. It is a plant found in Madagascar.
It aids in healing and regeneration of the skin. It boosts collagen production and maximizes circulation. It has great anti-bacterial, anti-psoriatic and wound-healing properties.
Laboratoires Asepta encapsulate Centella Asiatica in liposomes which preserve it and deliver it straight to the target.

Camelina Oil
Grape Seed Oil

Camelina Sativa seeds contains an oil
very rich in Omega 3 Linolenic Fatty Acid (40%) and Omega 6 Linolenic Fatty Acid (20%).

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Hydrating
  • Repairing
Rich in Omega 6 Linoleic Fatty Acid
(70%), this oil helps protect the elasticity of the skin and to moisturize it while preserving its barrier function.
Enoxolone
Ginkgo Biloba

Enoxolone is a component of liquorice root that has outstanding anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Ginkgo Biloba activates blood circulation and prevents weakness of capillary vessels thanks to polyphenol. It is also an anti-inflammatory ingredient.

What You Should Know About Moisturizers

We are often asked why most Asepta foot products do not contain Urea.

Doctors classify moisturizers in four categories:
  • Occlusives

  • These contain mineral oils, or lanolin, or zinc oxides. They are generally messy to use. Mineral oils can cause folliculitis and lanolin causes dermatitis. For these reasons they are not often prescribed these days, although you can see them at the pharmacy.

  • Humectants

  • These contain ingredients such as sorbitol, glycerine, alphahydroxyacids, and also UREA. Humectants attract water when applied to the skin and this should theoretically improve hydration of the upper levels. However, the water that is drawn to the skin is often water from other cells, not atmospheric water. With this type of moisturizer evaporation from the skin can continue and actually make the dryness worse. Manufacturers’ attempts to include humectants into moisturizers do not always produce a beneficial effect. High concentrations of propylene glycol and urea can be irritating. Pure mixtures of amino acids are useless as moisturizers. Pure solutions of glycerin are ineffective, and propylene glycol by itself is irritating. Alphahydroxyacids, such as lactic acid or glycolic acid appear to increase cohesion of the stratum corneum cells, thereby reducing roughness and scaling, but again, lactic acid can cause irritation.
For these reasons some people are said to be allergic to urea when they have a reaction such as skin rash and irritation.
Also urea can tend to clog up the pores of the skin because of the effect of the evaporation from the skin.
The skin does not absorb urea quickly and may leave a greasy feeling.

  • Emollients

  • Emollients such as fatty acids and cholesterol are said to reduce the roughness of the skin but they are not always effective.

  • Rejuvenators

  • Skin rejuvenators contain proteins to rejuvenate the skin. Akieine is in this category. Some say these will not work because the molecules are too large to penetrate the epidermis, and this is true in some cases. However, Akileine cream have proven to be effective, and this is because of their patented lipoaminoacids that work to regenerate the skin. Lipoaminoacids are a combination of fatty acids and amino acids that form a chain that can penetrate into the skin at the molecular level. It is this action that makes Akileine a unique range of products. No other footcare line in the world contains lipoaminoacids.
